This map unfolds from within the book Taxi Hand Signs. Note on the left hand side of the map page are corresponding page numbers 1-29, where the coloured gloves are found.

The coloured lines of the routes correlate with each of the 26 taxi hand signs (I have recently painted 10 more taxi hand signs and know of at least 12 more that need to be verified), represented as coloured gloves. I am currently working on a highly simplified route map with only the main routes for specific areas leading out of Gauteng. These will be folded pocket size pamphlets with additional information on where the main taxi ranks are and how people can navigate between them. This information is being gleaned from individuals who are frequent taxi users or drivers with extensive knowledge of the their particular routes, the industry and even expected codes of behavior amongst travelers.
